prospettive di ricerca genomica (approccio "Big Data").

Abstract
Genome research is drastically drifting out to the sea of big data. Next generation sequencing instruments yield, daily, extraordinary big quantities of “information”, which almost equally stratify in genome, transcriptome, epigenome and proteome data. This allows researchers to effectively and quickly investigate the target of their research, and to do it at relatively low experimental costs. The drawback is that the traditional skills of genetists, biologists and medical doctors are no longer sufficient to handle and manage these amounts of data. They need for relatively new scientific expertise that fall into the bioinformatics realm. This talk will linger over some successful cases where this discipline succeeded in promoting collaboration and helped mining hidden scientific findings.
