In the last two decades, the Bonferroni inequality index (B) has been revalued and studied for its interesting features. The present paper investigates the decomposition of B by population subgroups. In this context, the Shapley method is used and, to make the results easier to apply to sample data, an estimator of B is also proposed. Its properties have been analyzed in a simulation study and compared with those of the percentile estimator.
