    il Prof. Matthias Ehrgott (Lancaster University Management School) terrà il seguente seminario in modalità mista (online e on-site) in data martedì 21 settembre 2021 ore 11:00 (stanza 34, 4° piano, Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche): Bridging the gap between real world decision making and mathematics – Multiobjective optimisation in action Abstract:  In this talk I will present several studies that illustrate the power of multi-objective optimisation in supporting decision makers facing conflicting goals. These studies are drawn from the fields of transportation (airline operations, traffic modelling), health (radiation therapy treatment) and manufacturing (composite materials). I will illustrate the widely differing mathematical methods used in these applications and emphasise the common benefits of the multi-objective optimisation approach.
